Challenging reality
Free falling down the rabbit hole that is the seemingly endless portfolio of works by Bruno Pontiroli could send you insane in the best possible way. His art is nothing short of delightful in its absurdity and fantastical nature, and you can get lost for hours online deep diving through his portraits of re-imagined creatures from humans to Tasmanian Devils.
On his website Bruno says he want to imagine a world where different logic applies, a palace of paradoxes where an octopus can capture the clouds in its tentacled embrace or a twisted pig can find joy in a flutter of butterflies. And why not!
You’ll also often see a sort of strange balancing act occurring in Bruno’s work, as we find his brilliant beasts poised on the tip of their tongues or an antler or two. It’s just so wonderful to see an imagination in full creative swing, as our world is seen through a truly unique view and comes to life through Bruno’s work. It’s as though someone put too much bubblegum in the gene-pool, and I love it!
